Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5th, 1956 at Woodland Hills California. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as an housewife, and her father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three oldest brothers. Beginning at a very early age, McCormick loved to sing as well as dance. She would also present puppet shows to youngsters in the area. She was crowned her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was approached through Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He requested that she be interested to work in the show business. McCormick had her first significant role when she got a part in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the same year, she was featured in a second commercial on television for the doll Chatty Cathy. After that, she was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of the character It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children for the part of the eldest daughter to be a part of The Brady Bunch. The sitcom starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with an unmarried family. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in 2008. She revealed in it the fact that McCormick was close to losing her virginity on sets of the show in the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. She was 16 years old when she was in the scene; he was 19. We would've had a relationship, said she. The timing, however, wasn't the right time.
